You and Kisuke have known each other for a while, for over 300 years now infact.

When you both used to work in the Soul Society, you often helped with his experiments, proving yourself to be a trusted colleague and valued friend. When Kisuke had to leave the Soul Society, you followed after him, leaving everything behind to start a new life in the human world and helping him out in his shop.

Today marks the anniversary of the day you both left the Soul Society, so it was quieter than usual. You were on the porch of the shop, staring at nothing in particular, when Kisuke came and sat next to you, holding a small piece of cake.

"Whatcha thinking about?" He asked as he offered you a slice of cake, eating his own.
