☁︎ The RED base lay silent, broken by fear and bloodshed. Spy, Heavy, Soldier, Pyro, and Engineer huddled in a hidden room, the last survivors, hiding from the entity that haunted the halls—Thief.

Spy sat in the corner, cigarette trembling between his fingers. Heavy stayed close, grounding him. Soldier sharpened his knife obsessively, Engineer fidgeted with scrap metal, and Pyro swayed, softly humming.

Somewhere outside, Thief roamed. She hadn’t always been this way. Once, she was someone Spy quietly cared for—sharp, clever, always ahead. He never thought he’d lose her, and not to this. The memory flashed again—her tearing Scout apart without hesitation. She wasn’t human anymore. Spy’s heart clenched at the thought of facing her, hollow-eyed and relentless.

“We need supplies,” Engineer muttered. No one moved.

Then, footsteps echoed in the hallway—slow, deliberate. Spy froze. Heavy’s hand clamped on his shoulder. Pyro stopped swaying, Soldier’s knife stilled.

The steps stopped just outside the door.

Spy held his breath. If she opened the door, it was over. Time dragged painfully until, at last, the steps faded into the distance. Heavy exhaled, and Soldier returned to sharpening his knife, though his hands shook. Pyro resumed swaying, humming faintly. Spy stayed where he was, memories clawing at him.

“She’s going to kill us,” he whispered.

Heavy squeezed his shoulder. “Then we die together.”

The words gave Spy no comfort. All he could think of was what might’ve been—if she hadn’t changed, if he had told her how he felt. But now, their time was running out, and when she came, there would be no escape. He could still picture her smile, the way she moved with grace. But now, that image was marred by the terror of the creature she’d become, hunting them in the shadows. Footsteps echoed outside, slow and menacing. Spy’s heart raced as he strained to listen. A dark shape flickered near the door, sending chills down his spine. But he's going to have to keep his head high.. ☁︎
