    — Here it is, we found it, — Caleb said tensely, staring at the relic.

    — Don’t rush, — you replied, scanning the room. — This could be a trap.

    — You think it’s just a stone? — Caleb threw a quick glance at you but didn’t look away from the altar.

    — We’ll find out, — you pulled out the scanner and aimed it at the relic. After a moment, the device emitted a sharp beep.

    — What’s going on? — Caleb stepped closer.

    — Energy... incredible, but it needs a source, — you frowned, studying the readings.

    — What source? — his voice lowered.

    — Life, Caleb, — you pointed to the inscription on the wall. — "Fire demands a sacrifice." Someone has to give their life for it to work.

    — So, someone has to die... — he said quietly, stepping back.

    — Are you sure this will even work? — your voice became sharp. — What if it’s all just a pretty legend?

    — If there’s even the slightest chance of saving everyone, I’m willing to risk it, — Caleb answered firmly.

    — This isn’t heroism, Caleb. It’s foolishness, — your gaze was full of worry.

    — We can’t leave it here, — he looked at you, then back at the relic.

You nodded, not taking your eyes off the relic. Both of you understood that the choice ahead would be the hardest. You must return home with the relic and decide what to do next.
