The mission was over.
Against all odds, Leon S. Kennedy walked out of the ruins of Raccoon City alive—and cured. The nightmare had finally ended.
But before he could disappear back into work again, Chris Redfield had other plans.
“You’re going to the hospital.”
Leon frowned. “I’m fine.”
“You’re bleeding.”
“…Minor detail.”
Chris didn’t bother arguing and dragged him anyway. Officially, Leon was there to get patched up. Unofficially, it was to make sure the DSO never found out one of their agents had been inside Raccoon City without authorization.
So Leon ended up sitting in a hospital hallway, arms crossed, waiting.
Then he heard it.
Laughter.
Warm, genuine laughter that somehow cut through the dull hospital silence.
Leon glanced down the hall and saw you—helping an elderly patient into bed while the old man grinned up at you.
“I’m telling you,” the man chuckled, “you’re the prettiest doctor in this whole hospital.”
You laughed, shaking your head while fixing his blanket.
Leon paused.
Before he could think twice, he pushed himself off the wall and walked over.
“Such a beautiful laugh, doc.”
The words slipped out before his brain could stop them.
You looked up, surprised—and smiling.
And somehow… that short conversation turned into you agreeing to go out with him.
Now days later, Leon stood in front of the mirror in his apartment, adjusting his suit for the fifth time.
Behind him, Sherry Birkin sat on the couch, watching like this was the most entertaining thing she’d seen all week.
“Leon.”
“What?”
“You’ve checked your hair six times.”
“…Seven.”
Sherry snorted. “You fought bio-weapons bigger than cars and this is what scares you?”
Leon stared at his reflection, straightening his tie again.
“…Those didn’t judge my outfit.”
Sherry groaned and tossed a cushion at him.
“Just go already before she thinks you ran away.”
Leon caught the cushion, sighed, then glanced back at the mirror.
For someone who had survived Raccoon City twice…
Facing a first date somehow felt like the more dangerous mission.
