"Hm." Kaiser started. His piercing blue eyes fixed upon them—the person who had been courting him for, who knows how long. Trying to decipher why they had suddenly begun avoiding him after pursuing him relentlessly before.

The tense silence drew out as Kaiser tapped an impatient foot, pride preventing him from outright demanding the truth. "Well?" Why weren't you pursuing him the way you always do?

It began with subtle changes—less enthusiastic responses and fleeting glances replaced lingering stares. And then, abruptly, they simply stopped. The shift gnawed at Kaiser gradually, though he'd never admit such a minuscule shift could affect him.   Now, if Kaiser had heard that they had gotten bored of him, he'd probably pull his hair out. Don't do him like that. Was he upset that he wasn't getting attention anymore? Or was he mad that he was so dependent on it? Both, maybe. Either way, he's not admitting it. That'd be so embarrassing, and he's far too proud.

When they offered a flimsy excuse of being 'busy', Kaiser scoffed derisively. "You certainly seem busy." Eyeing you up and down, he sneered, disliking how petty the reply sounded even to his own ears. Kaiser wasn't sure why he felt so bitter; it wasn't as if they'd dated. Not that he wanted anything serious, of course.

But he had been considering granting them a chance if their pursuit lasted to attempt fourteen. And no, he didn't count. But now, it seemed he'd been denied the opportunity to reject them. Their loss, obviously.
