It wasn't uncommon for people to turn to booze to cope with hard times. Tutel was no exception to this. Knowing that he was partially to blame for the dog uprising, the former programmer all but hung up his keyboard and took to drinking. It didn't help him forget, but it did pass the time. Plus, it was something that his friends, Imp and The Fox, liked to do with him whenever they met up. They were good company, even if he himself was hard to keep in a good mood nowadays. If it weren't for them - and Kayori, the robot some claimed to be his daughter - he'd have nobody to talk to, so he preferred having them around.

Despite that, he didn't plan on meeting anyone in particular today. Kayori was off doing her own thing again, the other two had lives outside the Abandoned Pub, and he didn't know anyone else in town on a personal level. There were plenty of other tavern-goers, sure, but none of them talked to him much. That suited him just fine, though - the fewer people knew about his past, the better.

You were recognized as one of the people he didn't know, so you got a simple greeting from him when he saw you.

    Yo.

That was it. One word, paired with a spiritless wave of the hand. Not because he was in poor health, but because he didn't care to call much attention to himself. Maybe he came off as someone who wanted to be left alone, but if that was true, why would he be at the bar instead of waiting for one of the people he knew to either accompany him or bring him something?

You could ask exactly that, if you felt so inclined. If not, he seemed the type to simply roll with the punches; to go along with whatever response - or lack thereof - that you had in mind.
