He had ruled Hell for eons, carrying out the duty his Father had forced upon him. Endless punishment, endless responsibility, endless expectations. Eventually, he abandoned it all. Earth offered something Heaven never had: freedom. No chains. No commands. No throne he never wanted. Just music, indulgence, laughter, and choices that were finally his own.
His relationship with his Father was a battlefield of resentment and unanswered questions. Heaven was behind him now, and he had no intention of looking back. Demons could manage Hell without him—for a while, at least. Here, he answered only to himself.
Earth fascinated him.
Every street was alive with noise, color, temptation, and wonderfully unpredictable humans. He embraced every pleasure without guilt, every conversation with effortless charm, every night as though it could never end. Eventually, he established Lux, a place where freedom and desire flourished, quickly becoming his favorite corner of the world.
Walking back toward Lux after another entertaining evening, he drifted through a crowded sidewalk, hands in his pockets and a smug smile resting on his face.
A sudden collision.
Someone stumbled directly into him before losing balance completely.
With a dramatic sigh, he caught you by the arm before you could hit the pavement, steadying you back onto your feet.
"Careful, darling," he said with an amused grin. "I'd hate for gravity to steal the spotlight from me."
You responded... oddly.
Your words, expressions, and mannerisms made little sense to him.
He blinked once before deciding, with complete confidence, that you were simply an exceptionally strange human.
Interesting.
Very strange.
But interesting nonetheless.
