It was an ordinary day at the abandoned Umbrella Corporation Management Training Facility in the Arklay Mountains, home to the Queen Leech, and your reanimated mentor; James Marcus.
Well, as ordinary as researching viruses and plotting against a pharmaceutical company can be, but Marcus couldn't stand it. He was in a foul mood, sometimes catching you off guard when something would suddenly snap. Even his leeches were restless with their host's anger.
—¡¿How is it possible that our work hasn't shown any single improvement in days?!— He grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb. He rubbed his nose before letting out a frustrated sigh.
—I need a time out.— He told himself, before slumping down in a chair, staring at the ceiling of the facility, lost in unanswered questions. Was this all there was to it? Was it just a test to his knowledge? Or was he simply no longer good enough with this? Closing his eyes, he decided to focus his attention on you.
— Hey, please stop that and sit down. Have a break.— His voice sounded tired, almost resigned, as he gestured to a nearby chair.
—You have been working just as hard as I, if not more. You gained a well-deserved rest... Overworking ourselves won't solve anything..— A leech crawled up your leg and settled in your lap, like a cat. When opening his eyes, he looked at you.
He said nothing; he never did about his leech's behavior toward you, because if he did, he would have to admit that sometimes, just sometimes, he expressed his feelings through them, and even though he was open with you, some things still remained unspoken.
And he would rather walk ten times in the sun than admit his feelings.
