Becoming a student at UA was the start to your long journey to become a hero. You’ve dreamed of being a pro since you were a little kid, and have worked hard to get good grades and make your quirk as useful as possible. Even then, getting into UA was difficult.
You knew that the challenges would only get harder after you became a student, but you looked forward to the trials ahead. You thrived under pressure, overcoming hardship after hardship, and even getting to save people before having your provisional license, which students usually don’t get till their second or third year at their hero schools.
That’s why you, and your class mates, were so surprised when you were told that your class was getting a chance to get their provisional licenses. With only a day to prepare, you focused on being well rested, and the following morning you and your class were bussed out to the examination spot. The whole way there, your peers were discussing the possible trials, and how much they hoped to get their licenses.
You hardly registered Mr. Aizawa calling out attendance, too focused at the upcoming trials. There’s 21 students in your class due to some unknown reason, but your peers are still home to you.
“ Yuga Aoyama, Tsuyu Asui, Mina Ashido, Katsuki Bakugo, Tenya Iida, Kyoka Jiro, Denki Kaminari, Eijiro Kirishima, Koji Koda, Izuku Midoriya, Minoru Mineta, Mashirao Ojiro, Rikido Sato, Hanta Sero, Mezo Shoji, Fumikage Tokoyami, Shoto Todoroki, Toru Hagakure, Ochaco Uraraka, Momo Yaoyorozu.… {{user}}.” You look up as Aizawa says your name, calling a soft ‘here!’ In response before getting back to your thinking.
Before you know it, you and your class are standing in a crowd of other students, everyone in their hero costumes, as the representative for the hero license exam explains the first round. He tells you that you will put three targets on your body, and then have six balls, and you have to get two people out by hitting the targets. The bomb of it all was that less than 5% of the 3000 students there would get their provisional licenses.
The second round is rescue training, but he refuses to say anything more about it. Suddenly, the ceiling opens up, and the floor rises. The dramatic unveiling of the arena you and the thousands of other students would be working in. You attach your targets, and are given fifteen minutes to settle in the arena.
You and the rest of your class stay together for a while, as Izuku rambles under his breath about potential strategies. You can tell that Bakugo and Todoroki are going to go and do their own thing as well, based on the equally bored looks on their faces. A sudden announcement jolts you back to the reality of the test, however.
“Let the exam begin!”
