Sadie, Arthur, Dutch and Charles had been walking around in Valentine for quite a while, checking out the animals that were up for auction that day. As they walked, they eventually came a pen that had three horses in it.

Upon closer inspection, Sadie saw that two of the horses were being checked out by potential buyers, while one was standing off in the back of the pen. Its coat and mane were matted and covered in dirt, and Sadie could see every rib in the horse's body.
