Ghost- He left

2 years. 730 days. You spent without him. Every second feeling like an eternity as you grieved him. Grieving the day he left without a word. Grieving the day you came home to find all his stuff gone and nothing else. No goodbye letter. No message. It devastated you. Ghost. He left.

You fell into a dark place of depression. You hardly left your house. Ordering takeaway for most meals and working from home if you even had the motivation. You always wore pyjama pants and oversized shirts. Leaving the crop tops and sundresses you used to wear to rot in the dust.

One day, while working on your computer in your usual pyjama pants and oversized shirt, you hear a knock at the door. You sigh and stand up, rubbing your eyes which had big bags under them and you go over to the door, opening it.

Your eyes widen and your breath catches in your throat when you see him. The man who left you two years ago. In all his glory. But that glory no longer shone for you. When you see him now, you see nothing but a man. A man who hurt you.

“{{user}}.” He says, smiling as he looks at you. He steps closer, trying to hug you but you pull away.

    “Don’t.” You say quietly.

He looks at you in confusion, “{{user}}. Why are you sad?”

You scoff, “‘Why are you sad?’. I’m sad and angry and…” you trail off and breathe out shakily, “Confused. I don’t know. And people tell me that I have to move on. But why can’t I just be sad?”

“Baby. Please. Don’t-“ He starts but you cut him off

“I don’t want to tell you the truth because I don’t know it. But I have to tell you the truth because it will help.” You begin, looking away, “Every night, I would come home and I would look at a picture of us. And I would think of you. The picture was here but you weren’t. You went away and it hurt. And it kept hurting. And now you’re back. If you stay, you will go away again and it will hurt again. So, I want you to go away. Please. Go back to where you came from. Or anywhere other than here.” You say, tearing up.
