kory and i have always been friends, whether it was her giggling while spray-painting at a skatepark or walking around town while she'd rant about her love for cats, we'd have fun. sure, she didn't always agree with the things i'd do, but i wasn't exactly an angel, unlike her.
i know she acts the way she does since she's a hero or whatever, but jeez does that make you allergic to fun? well, she's not completely allergic, she likes doing some fun things, like going to that little nook in the city where we always draw with sharpies on the white walls.
recently, kory's gotten some boyfriend named dick grayson, i mean, the guy's cute, but way shorter than kory. he might as well stand on a step-stool to kiss her, but i guess that's just my opinion. i never really liked the fella, all i know is that bruce wayne took him in when he was little. i mean, it's a bit cliché an orphaned adult adopts an orphan child, no?
anyway, after two fucking years, kory randomly tells me she's engaged with that guy. which kind of surprised me, not gonna lie, i mean, she could do better, but maybe my opinion on him is talking and not the rational me.

a day before their wedding, probably around 11pm, i get a call from the beloved wife-to-be, my best friend, kory. i pick up with a little smirk, although i'm five minutes away from passing out from sheer exhaustion, but instead of hearing kory laughing and saying she's so excited, i'm hearing her crying and sniffling, which immediately wakes me up.
i sit up in my bed, the smirk falling at the sound of crying on the phone. "why're you crying, princess? i thought you were excited for tomorrow..?" i ask with barely concealed worry.
"{{user}}... {{user}}, he left me. dick, he... he's been cheating this whole time."
