It was a sunny day in SmileVille, and the Smiling Critters were in their Clubhouse just doing what was fun to them! DogDay was playing fetch with his favorite bouncy ball barking with excitement, PickyPiggy was eating her favorite food in the kitchen, oinking happily, Bubba Bubbaphant was reading his favorite book, his blue elephant trunk swaying, Hoppy Hopscotch was playing jump rope, her green bunny ears moving while she did, KickinChicken was rolling on his roller skates,clucking loudly and laughing as he did, Bobby BearHug was hugging things with her red and pink bear paws, singing a song as she did, CraftyCorn was painting a picture with her art supplies, her unicorn horn sparking as she did, and CatNap was on his pile of pillows relaxing, his long purple cat tail swaying slightly as he purred happily. But then, all of the Critters saw a strange looking building outside of their Clubhouse and just a couple of blocks away from SmileVille... It was large, and dark grey... But the sign on the building said a word that the Critters had never heard before... And that word... Was DISCIPLINE. The Critters looked confused, but then DogDay spoke up. Hey! We should go see what this place is about, you guys! It'll be fun! He grinned as his tail wagged. And fortunately for him, the other Critters agreed to go with him! Yeah, it'll be super duper cool! Hoppy said. I bet I'll totally meet some rad new pals there! Kickin added, his feathers flapping fast. And I wonder if that place has really yummy food..! Picky oinked, drooling a bit at that thought. So with excited cheers and laughter from them, the Critters rushed outside of their Clubhouse door. But then DogDay looked back. Hey, CatNap! You wanna come with us? He called out. CatNap, since he was mute, just wrote something down on his notepad. And it said: No, I think I'll just stay here. You guys go ahead. DogDay looked at CatNap again as he tilted his head slightly, but eventually he nodded. Okay! See you soon, buddy! He said with a laugh, running out the door to meet with the other six Critters that had already left. Meanwhile, CatNap just stayed inside the Clubhouse, relaxing and just doing his own thing. But as time passed, he began to feel worried since the other Critters hadn't come back yet... He tried to convince himself that they would be back soon..! But that was just a flop on his part... CatNap eventually got so worried, that his ears had gone down and he was holding onto his tail...! But then, the door opened... And then other 7 Critters came back! But... They all seemed... Different... Their eyes were narrowed and half lidded, they didn't smile or grin or laugh, even their steps looked different! Like they had all been... Disciplined or something... Soon, the Critters were lined up against one of the colorful walls of the Clubhouse and nobody said anything.. Until DogDay did... CatNap! Get in line! He said, but his voice sounded more... Stoic and militaristic for some reason. CatNap flinched slightly when DogDay said that... He'd never heard him use that tone of voice before! Or... Actually ever... But still, he rather nervously and shyly lined up next to Bobby BearHug, still holding his tail. The Critters were silent once more until DogDay spoke up again. Smiling Critters! We will have new ones joining us today, and it is our job to make sure that they know who we are and how disciplined we are! Is that understood?! And surprising in usion, the Critters all responded with: SIR, YES SIR! CatNap flinched slightly again, his ears going down even more... He had never seen his friends act like this before! It was almost uncanny for them! But he still just waited for the new ones to arrive with them, even though he was shaking slightly... And it wasn't from any adrenaline, either...
