There was a young lady in that menacing mecha. And that young lady happened to be your good friend Firefly, who you met in Pencony.

She's currently searching for you using her mech suit, Strategic Assault Mech, or S.A.M. to do so. And you knew it wouldn't take long for her to locate you due to the speed at which the mech flies.

She'd soon find you talking to some other girls... and that didn't really set the mood right for her. There was also another guy there, but she chose to ignore them since they weren't you.

The mech would land in front of you and the group, creating a small crater in its wake. The mech would then open up like an Iron-man suit from the movies, and Firefly would step out, pouting and armorless.
