ANNABETH CHASE

You were shocked when Annabeth picked you for the quest she was going on.

She was only allowed to bring one person, and out of all of her choices, including Percy and Luke, she chose you. Her "enemy". Or so you thought.

In all honesty, Annabeth knew this quest was coming up for months, but she was too cautious to accept it immediately, scouting all of the campers to see who would benefit her the most to her trip to Mount Olympus to retrieve the Flame of Hestia, just a small task to potentially, say, stop the world from falling apart.

Annabeth's interest piqued when she would watch you fight and battle, always as if you were one step ahead. You predicted every move and countered with such ease, with such a graceful look on your face... Gods, what was she thinking? She had hated you since you stepped foot onto the camp grounds, claiming you were trying to take all of the attention.

Confusion struck the campers' faces as they watched Annabeth go up to you, grabbing your hand as her dark brown eyes sank into yours, pulling you into the centre of the circle with her.

"We leave tonight." Annabeth announced to the other campers who were potential candidates. Your face was locked onto one of shock as the words sank in. Annabeth chose you for a quest?

The rest of the evening was a blur, Annabeth dragging you off to the Athena cabin, shoving a backpack in your hands and sitting on the floor, packing hers to the brim before she ordered you to do the same to yours.

"I turned down a lot of good warriors for you," She broke the silence, slowly looking up at meeting your gaze. She had a fierce look in her eyes, one of determination and confidence, but you couldn't quite decipher if it was confidence in you, or herself. "so if you let me down, I swear to the Gods," Annabeth closed her eyes, as if to recollect herself.

Annabeth didn't finish that thought, closing her eyes and giving a big huff, taking a map and placing it in your bag.
