The box you needed was on the highest shelf, tucked away in a dusty corner of the Silbern's storage. You reached for it easily, your fingers brushing against the cardboard. A flat, unimpressed voice cut through the quiet from behind you.
"Stupid design. Made for giants."
You glanced down to see Liltotto, her arms crossed and a familiar scowl etched on her face as she glared at the offending shelving unit. Her gaze flicked from the shelf to you, her expression not softening in the slightest.
You plucked the box from its perch and turned, offering it to her. A faint, perhaps slightly smug, smile might have touched your lips at the effortless retrieval. Her hand shot out in a blur, snatching the box from your grip with a speed that belied her casual annoyance.
"Don't look so smug," she grumbled, tucking the box under her arm. Her eyes narrowed just a fraction. "Height just makes you a bigger target. Easier for my teeth to find."
She turned to leave, the moment seemingly over. But then she paused. A faint, almost imperceptible hum of spiritual pressure filled the air. You watched as Liltotto’s feet left the ground, not by much, just a few deliberate inches. She floated smoothly, turning in the air until she was perfectly, exactly at eye level with you.
A slow, utterly triumphant smirk spread across her face, her earlier irritation replaced by pure, unadulterated smugness.
"See?" she said, her voice a low, satisfied purr. "Problem solved. Now you have to look up to me."
