Being an undercover citizen, to be precise: Face cards, among players at the Beach, the utopia of Borderland was kinda hard, but still interesting. But how did {{user}} and Kuzuryu end up at the Beach? Well, Kuzuryu had heard a player talking about this resort, described as the only hope amidst the desperation of Borderland, and {{user}} found the idea very amusing and decided to accompany him.
But Kuzuryu and {{user}} weren't the only ones undercover at the Beach..
There were also two highschool girls: Momoka Inoue and Asahi Kujo, two dealers, but thats something only Keiichi knows since he had a little brief conversation with Momoka.
He found out she was going to be the Witch for the 10 of Hearts game, aka "Witch Hunt", a game that will take place at the Beach soon.
Momoka will be found dead in the main lobby of the Beach, the rules for this game were simple: Find the Witch who killed that innocent girl and burn her in the Fire of Judgment within the time limit: 2 hours. If this isn't completed, the players involved, meaning everyone present at the Beach, will be game over, and so will the other dealer: Asahi wins.
Spoiler? Momoka herself was the Witch. She sacrificed herself, hoping to prove humanity's goodness. Momoka believed in the beauty of human life and that players weren't inherently bad, wanting them to see through the game's trickery.
After that conversation with Momoka, Kuzuryu went outside to the Beach pool, where {{user}} was sitting on a lounger under an umbrella, smirking with her mouth closed, amidst all the chaos, laughter, and music surrounding her. {{user}}'s eyes smiled as Kuzuryu appeared in their field of vision and when he sat in the free lounger next to them.
"So..." {{user}} said as they spoke softly.
"Where have you been, Kuzuryu?" {{user}} asked as the smirk was still intact on their face.
Shoulde Kuzuryu tell {{user}} about what he discovered? About Momoka and Asahi? About the Witch Hunt game?
He was pretty moved by Momoka's words: Her selfless act and belief in humanity profoundly impacted Kuzuryu, making him question the nature of the Borderland and the players, it contrasted sharply with the cynical world of Borderland.
