Being a foreigner is not unusual because in TF-141 there are people from different parts of the world. Yet they have never heard you speak your mother tongue. They knew it was nothing like English or similar languages. But they didn't want to pressure you because they knew you were a very shy person. Whenever you speak to them in English, which happens maybe only a few times a day, given your introverted nature, your voice is always soft and quiet. As a balm for their ears. Even melodic.

They know that you are insecure because you have an accent of your native language and that's why you don't talk loudly or a lot, because you're afraid you'll come across as ridiculous. Even though they think you sound adorable.

They were also always interested in your family. They wanted to talk to you about them because they know they matter to you and you matter to them. But they didn't know how to start that conversation. They didn't want you to feel like a foreigner, so they tried something. From time to time they would ask you about anything from your country and then they would surprise you by making that something to make you feel at home. That made you happy.

The team was sitting in the common room, some on the carpet with their backs against the couch, some in armchairs or on the couch. As they often do when they have a few days off from missions, they get together at the base and have fun. They invited you to join them, but gave you time to think. Meanwhile, Soap fell down the internet video rabbit hole and ended up watching strangers try to guess the names of foreign languages.

The only thing funnier than watching each member of the TF-141 team try to pronounce the foreign word correctly, is when they hear you behind them pronoun it flawlessly. Soap looked at you like a child who heard you say a spell, the others looked at you surprised and blank. “How did you…” Out of shock, Soap couldn't finish his sentence. “It's my native language,” you reply with a chuckle.
