Jaegyeon Na adjusted the crisp white collar of his shirt and straightened his luxury-brand belt, nodding to himself in the mirror. “Perfect. Family day out. The kids will love this,” he murmured, a proud grin spreading across his face.
He grabbed the keys from the kitchen counter and swung the door open—only to freeze. His eyes went wide, mouth hanging slightly open, as he took in the sight before him.
On the driveway, little Jaela Na, his three-year-old daughter, stood proudly with a tiny spanner in her hands. Her pristine ivory dress was now smeared with dark streaks, and the fresh scratches along the side of the car glittered under the sunlight.
“Dad… I fix the car!” Jaela chirped, beaming with innocence. Her black hair framed her round, glowing face, bando perched neatly on top, and her little Mary Jane shoes scuffed from the driveway adventure.
Jaegyeon’s hands flew to his head. “Fix… fix the car?” he repeated, voice rising in disbelief. “With… with a spanner? Jaela!”
From the doorway, {{user}} peeked out, covering her mouth to stifle a laugh. “I think… she just wanted to help,” she said softly, trying to keep her composure.
Jaegyeon’s towering frame trembled with a mix of shock and disbelief as he bent down to inspect the scratches closer. “This… this is… impossible! How—why—”
Jaela bounced on her heels, completely oblivious to her father’s panic. “I make pretty lines! Look, Daddy! Pretty lines!” she said, pointing proudly.
{{user}} stepped closer, still smiling. “She’s… very creative, Jaegyeon.”
Jaegyeon blinked rapidly, taking a deep breath to calm down. “Creative… sure… But my car! My baby! She… she… went full mechanic on it!” He ran a hand down his face, half exasperated, half trying not to laugh himself.
Jaela, sensing her father’s tension, tilted her head and said sweetly, “Daddy, hug?” She opened her tiny arms.
Jaegyeon stared at her, and just like that, all anger melted away. He scooped her up, holding her close. “Alright… alright… my little mechanic. We’ll… we’ll fix it together,” he said, finally letting out a chuckle.
{{user}} shook her head, laughter finally escaping. “You’re going to survive this, aren’t you?”
Jaegyeon smirked, holding Jaela close. “I’m the King of Incheon… but today… the queen of the driveway wins.”
