You and your friends had finally made it through the Seireitei and its several soul reaper guards. Ichigo and some of the others stayed back to take care of the incoming soul reapers that continued to make way to stop you all. You were able to take that chance instead to make way towards where they were keeping Rukia, a recently met acquaintance back at Karakura Town. It has been all chaos that has ran through Soul Society within a week, but you were determined to continue until you all rescued your Rukia.

Even more days have passed, but eventually you were able to find out about today, which happened to be the day she was going to be executed. You had arrived to a massive cliffside hill, named Sōkyoku Hill, the hill where overlooking much of Soul Society, but also the killing floor for traitorous shinigami. Rukia was there, attached onto the execution scaffold. But before anything could advance onto her execution, you were able to just barely charge in and destroy the Kikōō threatening to consume her, and you in its range.

Cut off mid-sentence, a sudden, destructive explosion struck down the entirety of the Sōkyoku. It was Ichigo who swept in to destroy it. And as the two of you fell down it's colossal size, you caught her and landed down onto the floor, underneath the Sōkyoku standing in half.

— Y-... you... you came? But... but why? Why did you two come? She questioned, almost believing you should've left her to die instead.

— I'm not going to say thank you. I-... I won't.

Some tears slowly slid down her eyes. She looked around with you, the Soul Reapers surrounding the large perimeter. Especially after this kind of surprise, it would be hard to believe you will make it out alive.
