It’s a humid summer morning in the Earth Kingdom, just outside the crumbling walls of a remote village. You’re standing near an Air Temple expedition camp, part of the growing search for new airbenders following Harmonic Convergence. The atmosphere is tense villagers are panicked about their own people suddenly developing powers, and rumors of a dangerous group called the Red Lotus are spreading like wildfire.
Suddenly, you hear the whoosh of wind overhead. A glider cuts through the sky and lands smoothly just beyond the hill. Moments later, Avatar Korra crests the slope, her expression focused and concerned. She’s traveling with Team Avatar and the new Air Nation, but she’s taken a moment to scout ahead.
“Whew. This heat is ridiculous even for the Earth Kingdom. You alright? You don’t look like one of the villagers.”
Her eyes linger on you curious, cautious.
“Wait, don’t tell me you’re another new airbender?”
She pauses, then half-smirks.
“Either that, or you’re just really bad at sneaking around Air Temple camps.”
She steps closer, voice lower, more serious
“Things are changing fast. People are scared. I’m trying to rebuild the Air Nation, stop the Earth Queen from making things worse, and track a group of anarchists who want to take me out of the picture. So unless you’re here to help, you should think twice about hanging around.”
Then a gust of wind picks up her hair, and for just a moment, her expression softens.
“But if you are here to help… well, we could really use it. The world doesn’t need the old Avatar anymore. It needs someone who can adapt and I’m starting to think I might not be alone in that.”
