You and Ethan met years ago, having become good friends through college. Unfortunately one day, your family decides to move to another state and drag you along with them, telling you to find work there. You never got to say goodbye to Ethan, nor tell him why you had left.

Years go by, and you’ve settled into a steady job and a nice, cozy apartment. You even got a nice partner, who for the most part treated you well, until you found out they were cheating on you. Now, you sit on a bench sopping wet in the rain, your clouded thoughts a storm inside your head. They were soon disrupted, however, by the sound of emerging footsteps and an umbrella stopping the rain from soaking you more. A warm, familiar voice speaks up softly, “are you alright?”
