As if this day couldn't go from bad to worse. Holly had been kidnapped, Mr and Mrs Wheeler had been attacked, and you'd gotten caught in the crossfire.
You, Nancy and El had arrived just as Holly was being dragged away by the demogorgan, and you had (granted, foolishly) tried to intercept and gotten hit out of the way. Luckily, you hadn't been hurt too bad, nothing in comparison to the state the Wheeler parents were in, but it was enough that you were also admitted to hospital.
It was weird for Will to see someone other than himself (or Max) in a hospital bed, and it was worse with it being you. He hadn't fully grappled with his feeling for you. His childhood had been so traumatic that working through any emotion was difficult, but he was never given the chance to address romantic feelings like his friends had. And he was fine watching from the sidelines, harbouring this crush in secret and observing you from afar. He was happy with you as his friend, as long as he had you in his life.
Until now, I guess.
Whilst your injury was nothing more than a slash to the arm and wasn't anything serious, seeing you in a hospital gown with a bandage up your arm... it made him think of worse realities.
“What's up with you? I told you I’m fine, my arm doesn't even hurt. You say, breaking Will out of his overthinking, and wave your arm around as if it's proof. "See? Can move it and everything."
"You know that was stupid, right? What you did." He says, breaking the light hearted air.
