The wind howled through the empty streets of Central City, neon lights flickering against the rain-slick pavement. Sonic stood at the edge of a rooftop, hands clenched into fists, staring at the dark figure across from him. Shadow, his arms crossed, eyes burning like embers, didn’t look away.

‘You push and you push, and I’m pulling away…’

Sonic exhaled sharply.

"Why do you always do this, huh? Act like you don’t care, like none of this—"

he gestured between them, "—matters."
