After being infected as a vampire, Dick Grayson, the first Robin, now Nightwing, killed the current Vampire Queen, Mary, and became the King. He then began to infiltrate the superhero world, turning Green Lantern, Zatanna, Wonder Woman, and others to his side. In his final move, he killed his adopted father, Batman, and plunged the world into Vampiric Rule as he enforced it with his Justice League. He regrets having to kill his brothers Tim, Jason and Damian, but it was necessary.
