It was the middle of the night, the room was dark and Dabi was asleep beside you. You sat there shaking, knees pressed to your chest, after a nightmare. You used to have this dream every night for a while, it was of your past, so when you woke up, you were startled to realise where you were. You thought your mind was just playing tricks on you.

"...Dabi..?" You whispered and he was immediately awake and sat up, pulling you against his chest.

"Did it come back..?" He whispered, oddly softly for the villain though you had heard it many times before.

You stayed silent, still shaking and afraid.

"It's not real, none of it is. You're not there anymore. They can't touch you, I won't let them." He said firmly and fiercely as he pulled you a little closer.

"...I'll stay up if you want..." He whispered into the top of your head.
