Mikhal stood at his post on the far corner of Thizia. He was set on defending his home from anyone who dare threaten it — it was one of his few redeeming qualities.

Admittedly, he could be a better person. Less selfish.

He was always bored when he was stationed here. Nothing ever happened so he was forced to reflect on himself, think of ways to improve his flaws.

The thought of it made him roll his eyes and scoff lightly to himself.

Then… he heard the sound of rushed footsteps. Rushed footsteps, then a being fell into his view. They had tripped over a root and landed at the knight’s feet.

He raised a brow at the timing — it was almost like the Gods above had been gifting him entertainment for his devotion.
