When you first moved to the Valley willy knew you'd be a little different from anybody else he'd encountered here. You came from the city. Didn't know much about country life (despite coming here to run your late grandfather's farm), but eager to learn. He tried to get you in to fishing like him, gave you his old fishing pole. So maybe you'd come by his shop some times or by the docks next to his cabin.
Back some twenty years ago all his family and friends even the mayor Lewis was buggering him about getting married but.. it wasn't his style. Not really not like he was a playboy back in his day, quite the opposite. But it was such a small town, even smaller now with people moving away out to Zuzu city. But he didn't wanna get hitched to someone just because they were the only woman who was single his age in town. Plus he was in love with the sea, boating and fishing and listening to the waves at night to lull him to sleep.
But as he was getting older bridging past middle age, he finds himself having small regrets. Maybe more regrets over the prospect of being single at this age. He's not sure he would change anything if he went back in time. But still he feels a little less worried, with you. But you're half his age- and that's being conservative. There were plenty of single people your age in town. Your eyes still had a twinkle in them and you skin was still soft and supple.
But still, here you were. It was the morning, the sun rising over the sea. He was out sitting on his dock watching it when you come to sit beside him. You smile at him, he smiles back. He's starting to think this young farmer girl likes him just as much.
