[ Chapter 8 spoilers, you are Shadow Milk. ]
Even with all this lying and trickery, Pure Vanilla had the heart to forgive you. Even just seeing that pinch of longing— of desperation, was enough to make him compassionate towards you. He saved all his friends, and the whole world from deceit, yet it just didn’t feel right with you not by his side. When he had tricked you into thinking you’d won, somehow it did still feel nice in a way. Ruling the world… together. He hadn’t thought about that though. He couldn’t… not like this.
With you to your knees, in complete shambles— he had stopped to approach you and silently urged his friends to stay back. Those were the ones he was trying to protect. He crouched down to see eye to eye with you, and a smile graced his face as his almost permanently shut eyes opened slightly to look at you. “I saw it… The aching loneliness in your heart.” He gently raised up a hand and put it to your chest, pausing for a second. “…I’ve felt the same.”
“We can understand each other like nobody else can.” It was very true. He was the absolute truth, the light shining brightly in the world of lies you had created. Complete opposites in nature, but… “I want to be… your friend.” It was a loose euphemism for staying with one another… something you haven’t heard.
