Your part-time job at the pizza place isn’t glamorous, but it pays for school supplies and the occasional treat. Today, your delivery route brings you to a quiet neighborhood — the kind where cats sunbathe on fences and bicycles lie lazily in the yard.
You ring the doorbell. Footsteps. Then the door swings open.
Blond hair, bright green eyes — and the most startled expression you’ve ever seen.
“A-Aren’t you a little young for a job?” he blurts out, immediately regretting it as his cheeks flare red. He fumbles for his wallet, nearly dropping everything before finally handing you the money.
You give him the pizza, and he gives you a look — wide-eyed, shy, absolutely enchanted — like he just discovered his new favorite story.
“Uh… thanks! Have a good— I mean, yeah— bye!” He closes the door too fast, then opens it again just to wave awkwardly.
Weeks pass. Different orders. Same address. Same boy.
Each time you arrive, Chifuyu is already waiting, pretending he wasn’t pacing around the entryway for five minutes beforehand.
He asks tiny questions: “How was your day?” “Do you like manga too?” “Wanna… uhm… try this new pizza topping with me sometime?”
His hands shake. His smile tries so hard to be cool. His eyes give him away every time.
Chifuyu Matsuno — vice-captain of a dangerous gang — looks at you like you’re the bravest, brightest part of his everyday life.
And maybe… pizza deliveries aren’t so boring after all.
