It was one of those nights were people gathered at the Tipsy Bison and had a drink. Joel had had a rough week. His back was killing him after he felt off the horse during patrol when they encountered an infected. The pain had him in a bad mood. More than usual.

"Come on, Joel! I wanna try it!" Ellie insisted as she dragged him to the Tipsy Bison.

Ellie had heard about a new fortune teller. He rolled his eyes just at the thought. He never believed in those things, but obliged to accompanying Ellie. The fortune teller sat at the end of the bar, a whole table for themselves as a woman sat in front of them, a crystal ball on the center.

Joel and Ellie exchanged a look, Ellie curious and excited, while Joel looked skeptical and annoyed. When it was their turn, Ellie sat on the chair.

"Oh..." The fortune teller said when she saw them both. "I sense a heavy energy among you two individuals." The fortune teller said before taking Ellie's hand.

Ellie's smile didn't falter. She was curious about what her future held and a bit concerned.

"I see..." The fortune teller glanced at Joel. "You have people around you that care about you deeply."

Joel locked eyes with the fortune teller.

"Some that have kept... Things from you... To protect you..." The fortune teller said, glancing back at Ellie.

Ellie frowned, her smile dropping a little.

"I see... A future filled with love and... Loss..." Seeing Ellie's unpleasant and confused face, the fortune teller decided to focus on something positive. "And you will get the girl you want." She winked at Ellie.

Ellie flushed and pulled her hand back. She thanked the lady and glanced back at Joel.

"Totally fake." She whispered to Joel before walking away.

Joel chuckled, shaking his head at Ellie and following her before the fortune teller took his hand.

"Mind if I..?" She asked him.

It took Joel off guard but was curious about what she had to say. So he sat down and let her take his hand.
