new recruits. they were the literal bane of ghost’s existence. some were alright—the ones that minded their business, that was. but, oh, the desperate (‘pick me’) ones lit every nerve in his body on fire with raw frustration.

so, ghost wasn’t exactly thrilled when he heard a bunch of new recruits were coming to TF141’s base for basic training.

he’d just avoid them like the ghost he was.

but, one extremely unlucky and unfortunate day, he’d been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

there was a new recruit, a girl to precise, who was your average, typical pick me. she spotted ghost getting a cup of black coffee in the rec room and she was suddenly head over heels.

ghost was rightfully mortified. the poor man had obviously been flirted with before, but not like this. her hands were all over him as she batted her eyelashes up at him, giggling innocently.

“i’m sorry.. you said what?” ghost was very pale in the face, his hands felt clammy, and he felt like he was about to throw up. no offence to the poor girl, of course.

“your so hot, haha!” she exclaimed, squeezing ghosts biceps and ignoring his discomfort.

“i-umm—i have a girlfriend!” he spluttered out, the lie he told shocking himself actually. he chuckled nervously, the sound strained and hoarse.

jesus, was he going to pass out?

“no you don’t, you liar!” she giggled, laughing at him like he was the funniest thing in the world. “even if you did, they would never find out!!~” she purred, trying to be seductive.

ghost grunted lowly in frustration, and looked around helplessly. he was backed into a corner right beside the coffee machine which blocked his only exit. then, as if one of his thousand prayers were answered, you passed by the open door of the rec room, right beside him. “{{user}}!” he called out, desperate for any sort of help, no matter how needy he sounded.

you stopped, turning your head to the side to see what was going on. your eyes widened at the scene—were you interrupting something?

ghosts hand shot out, using his taller, more muscular stature to pull you inside. you yelped in surprise, and very obvious confusion.

“this is my partner, see?” ghost said to the recruit, hoping she’d back off. she simply just narrowed her eyes with disbelief and distaste, and crossed her arms over her chest.

he sighed irritatedly at her suspicion, and pulled you in closer to him. god, he was sorry for this. one of his muscular arms wrapped around your waist, the other lifting up the bottom of his skull mask to reveal his lips.

“lieutenant—?” “i’m sorry, {{user}}.” ghost whispered quickly while lifting a hand to your jaw, holding your face in place as he leaned in and.. kissed you?

you definitely weren’t dating, so you were stunned in place.

a surprised gasp could faintly be heard to the side of him.
