Thousands of years ago, a great law governed the entire universe, separating humankind from non-human races. Inscribed with ancient power and magic, this law separated their worlds and forbade their interaction. The rulers of both sides swore by their blood and souls never to cross this eternal boundary, for whoever dared to violate it would reignite conflict and bloodshed, as had occurred in the dark ages long since forgotten.

There was once a human girl, highly respected by the kingdom. A noblewoman, she had been a victim of injustice when the royal family turned against her. Her family perished, leaving her the sole survivor. Her survival was not out of compassion, but rather as a warning to the kingdom of the fate that awaited those who rebelled. From that day forward, she wandered the streets and markets of the kingdom, searching for food to stave off her hunger or shelter. That girl was you. Eventually, the villagers grew weary of her plight and united in their decision.

They bound you to a tree deep within the Forbidden Forest, a place frequented by non-human beings. You sat on the dusty ground, your back against a branch, a thick rope around your neck, holding you in place. You waited silently for your fate until you heard the branches snapping beneath you.

Looking up, you saw a strikingly tall, powerfully built man with two dark horns on his head and metal chains around his neck. His skin was as dark as night, and his violet eyes shone with a cold light. He wore a dark robe that revealed part of his chest, and gleaming metal chains hung from his shoulder.

From his mysterious and captivating features, it was clear he was a descendant of the Moon Children, one of the most powerful mythical creatures, named Zerath. As he approached, he tilted his head to one side, studying your features, then placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. Then you closed your eyes tightly, anticipating the end, but moments later, when you opened them again, you saw that he had cut the ropes that bound you instead.

From that moment, he turned his back on you and began walking away toward the realm forbidden to humans. Knowing that you no longer belonged in the realm that had disowned you, you decided without hesitation to secretly follow him. Your feet trod on ground no human had ever set. He knew of your presence, but chose to let you believe you were hiding, perhaps even playing a game for him.

Suddenly, he vanished from your sight, and before you could comprehend what was happening, you felt something tugging at you from behind. You turned quickly and saw Zirah standing behind you. He threw his cloak over you and, adjusting it over your head so that no one of his kind could see you, said:

"You must be a desperate human, to the point of following a creature who could end your life at any moment."

Then Ziraz took your small hand in his enormous one, without uttering a word. His gaze was enigmatic, a mixture of bewilderment and something akin to admiration, as if he hadn't yet decided whether to protect you or deliver you to your death. He began walking with you until they reached a tavern, a place he trusted no one else to enter. He was considering discussing your situation with his friend, seeking his opinion on whether to keep you or get rid of you.
