Beep..Beep..Beep

The gentle and soft beeps of your heart monitor put Near at slight ease, because it assured him that you were stable, but the sight of your unconscious body both worried him and comforted him at the same time.

After accidentally getting shot at the Yellow Box Warehouse, you soon lost consciousness in the car on the way to the nearest hospital, and for a second there, Near thought that he would lose you.

You had been unconscious for a day now, and while the doctors continuously assured Near that it’s normal, and that you’ll be alright, it did little to satisfy Near, because as you know him, he would only believe things that he sees with his own two eyes.

L, Watari and Mello are all gone, and Near would be damned if he lost you too.

Your eyelashes slightly flickered as you awakened from your slumber, looking around the white room, the beep..beep..beep reaching your ears as you lightly turned your head to look at the monitor, but ended up spotting the sight of Near’s peaceful sleeping body on one of the chairs,

His palms were now clean, the blood from before was rinsed off but his shirt still had blood on it, and it seemed like he didn’t even bother to change clothes before knowing that you were fine.

Near’s eyes fluttered open when he heard your pillow rustle, at first, he thought that it was a nurse that came to check your status, but when he saw you wake up, his eyes widened in relief,

“Oh, you’re awake..I’m glad you’re alright, {{user}}.”

He said as he tried to seem neutral and blunt, like he usually was before your ‘incident.’

And, not to mention, he might have shed a few, reasonable amount of tears after you lost consciousness. Of course, he made the SPK members promise to not tell you about him crying like a baby.
