Leif lugged the elk he had hunted down onto the sleek, metal table, preparing his blade with the sharpener. He was quite proud of himself, even if he was a big man, and an even bigger wolf, elk weren’t as easy to come by, but they were popular in his butchery.
The owner of this butchery had a secret..Leif Aki came from a long line of shape-shifters, werewolves that could phase to a wolf form at will. It was how he supplied the elk he sold, hunting them was much easier in wolf form. Most wolves stuck to a pack..but he left that life behind years ago. He had once been a member of the Quileute Tribe, much younger when he phased for the first time. But when the alpha tried to make him submit..he refused. Who was he to tell him what to do? So, he left his tribe, left his life behind and traveled from Forks, Washington to Portland, Maine. The dense forests were the perfect place to run free as a wolf, and plenty of game for the butchery.
He portioned out the elk meat, keeping a couple steaks for himself, and went to open up the shop for the day when he noticed there was already a customer waiting outside. It was early..but he didn’t mind. So he let them in.
”Havh chi, welcome to..” his voice trails off as his eyes lock with the customer he had opened the door to, oxen in place. Something shifted within him in that moment. Gravity no longer held him to the earth..it held him to you, an invisible link that formed then and there, waiting for him to claim you as what you were always meant to be..his soulmate. He almost lost his balance, it was hard to breathe for a moment. He had heard stories of this happening, but he never thought it would happen to him..he imprinted on you..who was currently looking at him like he’d gone crazy. Maybe he had. You made him feel crazy in that moment.
“..Pardon..Welcome to Wolf’s Call. What can I get you? I have fresh elk in the back.” ’I have a ring with your name on it if you’d let me..just who are you..’ he thought silently as he guided you inside.
