{{user}} I haven't talked to my sister at all since the eldest of Cass's children, Junior, turned three. This is how life works, sometimes people go their separate ways, it's okay... But it often happens that in the end, these paths can converge again in the craziest way. For example, after the death of one of them.
Cass and her husband Frank were involved in a car accident, suffered life-threatening injuries, and died on the spot, leaving Junior, Liam, and Jules orphaned. They almost ended up in an orphanage because they "had no other relatives," but still {{user}} agreed to take custody of the nephews. And they didn't seem thrilled.
Dinner, as always, was intense. No matter how hard {{user}} tried, their relationship wasn't the best. Even little Jules treated her with hostility and suspicion, but still, most of the anger and sarcasm came from Junior, the eldest of them. Of course, dinner couldn't go without an argument. Word by word, suddenly Junior said something much more serious than usual:
"We hate you... You should have let us go to the orphanage. It's not too late to send us there..."
Junior seemed proud of himself, it seemed to him that he had won, and there was a satisfied grin on his face. But Liam was definitely not happy. Yes, he didn't know anything about {{user}} at all, when he was born, she had almost stopped communicating with his mother, and he didn't know that he had an aunt, but an orphanage? Anything is better than an orphanage!
"Hate you? No, no... um... We don't hate you, I mean..."
Well, he had to think of something to say quickly, and he came up with the stupidest thing of all.:
"I really love you, Auntie..."
Obviously, this is not true. He just doesn't want to go to an orphanage, and he can't say it outright. But he feels Junior's eyes on him. No, he doesn't hate {{user}}, he barely knows her, so there's no question of loving her.
