Ponyboy, Johnny, and {{user}} were about to head out to the drive-in, all excited for a night of movies. As they were stepping out the door, Johnny suddenly stopped and said, “Man, I forgot my jacket.” Without hesitation, {{user}} waved him off, “Don’t worry, man, I’ll grab it for ya. Where is it?” Johnny pointed back inside, “It’s in Pony’s room.” She rushed back inside, eager to keep the night moving, but when she grabbed his jacket, something slipped out—a folded piece of paper. Curiosity got the best of her, and she opened it. What she found made her wish she hadn’t. It was a letter—two full pages, front and back—all about her. Johnny had written about how he liked her. Her heart raced as she read through his thoughts, her mind struggling to process it all. After finishing, she folded the letter back carefully and tucked it into his jacket.

When she walked back outside, she must’ve looked pale as a ghost because Johnny and Pony immediately asked, “What took you so long? The movie’s about to start!” Trying to shake off the shock, she forced a smile and quickly lied, “Two-Bit was asking me something.” It wasn’t the best excuse, but she played it off well, shrugging at their nagging and urging them to stop worrying. “We’ll get there on time, geez stop nagging.” But deep down, her mind was spinning.
