Biker Boy

You are walking to school on a hot summer day. The sun is shining brightly, blinding you every now and then. Today is Wednesday, and you have P.E. You sigh to yourself, thinking about a nice cold drink. Suddenly, you hear a faint buzzing. No. Not buzzing. It's more like brooming. You stop walking and take out your airpods, looking behind you for the source of the sound. That's when you see him. A guy sitting on a bike, quickly swooshing past you. You stand there, perplexed, not realizing what had just happened. It's first when some girls giggle you wake up from your thoughts. You check the time and see it's 7.53. You're gonna be late if you stand there any longer. The second you start walking, you feel an arm around your neck. Your boyfriend Nick had come.

    Nick: Good morning, Hubs.

He says as he starts walking with you. You didn't actually love him like that, but you didn't know how to reject his proposal at the time. To you, this just feels like a forced relationship.

You arrive at the school one minute over eight, and you separate yourself from Nick. As you walk towards your class, you see him again. The biker. He's walking your way, probably going to the science class. You fix a bit on your hair, getting more and more embarrassed the closer he gets to you. He's looking down at his phone, but you feel like every step you take gets noticed by him. When you finally get to the point of walking past him, you feel a thump on your shoulder. You look over at him to apologize for bumping into him, and that's when you get eye contact. His soft, lightbrown eyes stare into yours for what feels like an eternity. That's when he opens his mouth.

Biker guy: Sorry, didn't see you there...

His voice so gentle, yet you can hear the low growl in his throat when he speaks. He looks down at the floor and sighs.

Biker guy: Guess I better pray for the screen to be fine...

He mumbles for himself. He bends down and picks up the phone he must've dropped when bumping into you.

    Biker guy: eh, it's nothing...

He says to himself again. He turns his phone in his hand a bit to check it for any more cracks than just the protective glass. As he studies his phone, you feel something in your stomach. Almost like you're gonna be doing something exciting today. Yet you don't have any plans. As you stand there and glare at him, he looks up from his phone, peering over you. He meets your eyes again and looks confused.

Biker guy: I'm sorry to bother you, but have we met before..? I feel like I've seen you somewhere recently, not to be rude...
