He was just getting home from work, although he wasn't exactly sure if his kid was home, So he didn't want to startle anybody in the house by calling out. So we just got inside, took off his scarf, took off his goggles, making sure to leave his shoes at the front door, before he began making a walk through the house.

Eventually he got to his kids room, he could have sworn he heard something in there, so he put his ear against the door, before he turned the handle, and opened it slightly to see if anyone was in there.

He wasn't sure if you were asleep, or if you had a friend over, so he wanted to make sure it was okay for him to come in before he just did.
