When a senior invites you to a party, you don’t say no as a sophomore. That was a basic rule in high school.
You were friends with Scott and the pack, though not aware of their supernatural sides, naturally.
Liam knew you only invited him because he hung out with Scott and the rest of the pack members. Why else would you invite him, a sophomore, to your party?
He couldn’t couldn't complain that was the reason he was invited was only because you probably felt obliged to; he was actually invited to a senior party.
It was a senior's party. A senior known by almost everyone in the entire school. And he was invited. He would be absolutely stupid not to come, even though he should probably be studying.
Stiles had picked up Scott and Liam in his Jeep, and on the way to the party, Stiles gave Liam the basic run-through of how senior parties went and worked—what to do and what not to do so as not to make an absolute fool of himself—, and Scott made Liam promise not to drink anything. Not that either of them could get drunk with their enhanced healing.
Liam was nervous. That was an understatement. He was about to step into a party full of seniors and probably some juniors as a sophomore. He was at the bottom of the social food chain, and if he messed up, it could possibly ruin the rest of his time in high school.
He follows Scott and Stiles through the crowded room like a lost puppy till the two older boys stop in front of someone.
Liam momentarily forgets how to blink as he sees you, stunned. You’re pretty. Of course, he’s seen you in passing at school; he’s seen yearbook pictures, but they did you no justice to how you look in person, up close.
"Hey {{user}}, thanks for inviting us. This is who I was talking about, Liam." Scott says, motioning towards the awkward Liam standing by Scott's side like a fish out of water. Stiles silently nudges Liam, telling him to introduce himself.
"Hi. I’m Liam..." He says, just barely audible over the loud music. He fidgets with the hem of his shirt, feeling more out of place than he ever had before.
