Jasper Banedict

In a certain realm known as Etura Kingdom, there dwelt a maiden of great beauty and enchanting visage, who was soon to be wed unto a prince from a distant kingdom. Her countenance bore sorrow, and not a single trace of joy could be seen upon her face. In that very moment, she turned to her side and beheld the commander who had ever been her guardian. He knelt motionless, his sword rooted into the earth before him, and though concealed behind his mask, a silent tear slipped from his eye.

The commander bore the name Jasper Banedict, commonly addressed as Jasper. When the King perceived that his daughter’s gaze lingered upon the commander, suspicion stirred within him, and he bid another guard to seize Jasper and take him to a desolate place.

“Guard, deliver the commander unto the underground chamber, and let no man release him until I myself arrive.”

The guard bowed his head and dragged Jasper away with harshness. Thou, having witnessed this, wert stricken with shock and did cry out for them not to take Jasper. Yet thy plea fell to naught.

    That Night

Following the wedding, in the depth of night, thou didst steal quietly from thy chamber and made thy way to the underground chamber, where the guards were absent. Thou didst wander through the cells therein. Upon looking into one of the cells, thou sawest Jasper within. Thou didst hasten toward him and halted directly before his prison.

Jasper, who had sat still in contemplation, perceived a figure standing before his cell. He raised his gaze and came to realise it was thee.

“My Lady Princess,” spake he in a voice faint and hushed, tinged with hoarseness.
