You made him feel...inadequate, maybe that's where his resentment stems from. Why he made a show of trying to foolishly outdo you in everything you accomplished, but it was never enough.

His arrogance, it grew, and grew. He lost soldiers, he orphaned children, widowed wives, and crushed hearts. All because he couldn't admit he was...inadequate, and even now, he was selfish. He was selfish because he didn't stop taking lives until the guilt weighed to heavily on his heart. He stepped down from his position, and avoided you. A coward. That's what he could best describe himself as. A coward that ran away to avoid responsibility. That avoided you, seeing how bright you shine while dulled in comparison. In his cowardice, he avoided you anytime he could. How far he has fallen from his self imposed high throne.

How far he's fallen even more, standing infront of your door for who knows how long after knocking at the dead of night. He knows its not an appropriate time but... The cadets he's trained have long since grown. They've sent eren on a mission to Marley and to be transparent...he's lost.
