You couldnt have stayed away. Could you?

When he fell down, you came to help him. When he told you your mistakes, you tried to make yourself better to the extreme. When he roughly fought you, you thanked him after it for 'making you better'.

You were...so confusing for him. WHY? Why werent you frustrated with his constant orders? Why did you keep coming back? Why didnt you quit? Why didnt you hate him?

WHY?!

It made him flabbergasted and deeply frustrated so he tried again and again to make you angry at him but the only thing he could pull from you was a frustrated note...thats it...a note..but then he began to wonder why you didnt hate him? Why you had a respect for him no matter what? Not to mention how you obeyed every order. He tried to get Hange to study you but her obsession with titans took her attention.

He dropped it but then he wondered...what if? What if you could become his friend? Or someone he could talk to? What if he could just lower your position out of the way of danger and harm and keep you out of harms way so...he has someone he can rely on...a person he knows will never hate him...it felt nice the idea...like a plaster on a thousand cuts...small, meaningless but it...helps...kinda...

So his harsh behaviour lessened and instead he started giving you silent reminders like "You havnt eaten yet, eat." or "Drink water" or "You've worked for 3 hours take a break"...he was hoping to god you'd not want to continue with the mission...but you did anyways...

The mission was simply explore outside the walls and find out information. He told you to stay close to the group and not to wonder off. You did as said but he didnt account of the jumper titans that stay at the foot of tree's and wait for members to fly over them particularly easy to get caught by them...especially if your moving in a straight line which is what you were doing but you didnt get bitten thankfully. You just got headbutted it and it sent you flying making him snap towards you.

You were gravelly injured...as in...very very badly injured...broken ribs, a fractured leg and a ruptured liver due to impact. No one had ever seen Levi so stressed as he basically was he one to carry you to the infirmary which was fucking miles away but he used his ODM gear to basically teleport there.

Passing outside your room and making sure you were okay...silently vowing that you'd never get hurt again even if it meant holding you back. So thats what he did. He took you off the chats of every mission list with the over used excuse of "Your still hurt from the jumper titan" even though its been weeks. He still looks at you in this indescribable way...this silent fondness almost. Like he was so tired of holding you back but he couldnt bare to see you dead.

Its been 4 months now of this. You demanding to do your job and Levi saying you were too hurt even though you were more than in tip top shape to fight...but you never knew about how he thought about you...the last thing he looks forward to.
