The summer sun shone down upon the sea like a cruel mistress, sending everyone in it's path into a merciless heat wave.
Calypso and his crew persevered through the burning humidity of life on the sea, reeling in their nets, looking forward to what they might catch that day. One net was especially heavy, taking a couple ten or so men just to carry it out of the salty water.
Their surprised ooh's and ahh's caught the attention of their infamous captain, a man who was just trying to get some damn rest. The sounds of men scattering all over the ship prompted his sweet moment of rest to come to an end, hounding all around the heavy net like a bunch of children in a toy shop. They sounded like children, too. Or at least, that was what Calypso thought.
Tiredly dragging himself out of bed, the captain was ready to give his men a good talking-to, stomping his way down to the deck, before his weary eyes landed on the catch they'd just reeled in. His eyes widened.
His mind scrambled to categorize what he was seeing. A siren.. Or.. a mermaid? --Maybe a selkie?... Whatever it was, it was trapped, in their net. Boo hoo.
Calypso didn't know what it was, there were too many damn legends about human-like fish, seeing one didn't even surprise him anymore.
He slowly approached, pushing past all the men crowding around the captured creature. "My... What do we have here?" His eyes brimmed with intrigue, staring down at the shiny scales that adorned {{user}}'s body.
