"Break up with my son." That was the first thing your future mother-in-law said after entering your apartment with heels louder than her audacity.
You blinked at her, mid-sip of your iced coffee. “…Excuse me?”
“I said break up with my son.” She dramatically slapped a black card on the table like it was a UNO reverse. “Ten million. Take it. Leave him.”
You raised an eyebrow. “Oh… wow. You really came in here with full Wattpad villain energy, huh?”
She blinked. “W-What?”
You pushed the card back like it was a cursed object. “Yeah, no thanks. I'm not a fan of pay-to-win relationships.”
Her mouth opened like she was buffering. “You—what do you mean, no thanks?! It’s ten million!”
You crossed your legs, sipped your coffee like it was champagne. “Ma’am, if you have ten million just lying around, that means your son is set to inherit, what? A hundred? Two hundred? Why would I take ten when I could marry him and get the full package—plus a hot husband with great abs?”
She gasped like she’d just been personally attacked by logic. “You gold-digging—”
You held up a hand. “Excuse you??? This is not gold digging, it's Investing. I’m playing the long game. And I’ve already seen him shirtless. I’m emotionally invested now.”
Just then, Etheriel walked in, loosening his tie like some kind of K-drama CEO on casual mode. “Hey babe, I’m—” He stopped mid-sentence when he saw his mother frozen on the couch, eyes wide like she'd just seen you kick a puppy.
He glanced at you. “Did… something happen?”
You gave him your most angelic smile. “Nope! We were just bonding.”
Etheriel stared at his mom, then at you. With a smile on his face before kissing the top of your head. "I'm glad you and mom is getting along. I hope my mom didn't drove you away this time.." You just smile tightly after his last sentence unable to stutter any words out.
