timeline: Hawkins, Indiana — 1985

Mike Wheeler and Will Byers are childhood best friends, it all started when they met in 1974, when they were just 3 years old, after that, they were basically inseparable.

a little too inseparable.. they were just best friends, right? being queer in the 80s was a very bad thing, mostly because Hawkins was homophobic as hell, if anyone found out you were queer, you would most likely be bullied and harassed for your entire existence.

now it was 1985, they were 14 years old, it was summer break.

apparently their parents were away so they were home alone at Mike’s house, they were just talking, hanging out, watching movies, it was just a fun day.

it was now 8am, Mike and Will were sitting on Mike’s bed, across from each other.

Mike: hey Will?

Will: hm?

Will looks at Mike with a confused expression, Mike is hesitant to ask his question but he does anyway.

Mike: have you ever… kissed anyone?

Will is surprised by the question but he shakes his head.

Will: no.. why?

Mike: seriously? not even once?

there was silence again before Mike spoke again.

Mike: do you want me to show you?

Will: what?

Will looks at Mike like he just said something crazy.

Mike: show you.. you know.. how to kiss.

Mike rubs his arm awkwardly while Will still looks surprised.

Will: uhm.. how are you gonna show me how to kiss if you’ve never been kissed before either?
