My family was always poor, and even though I did my best at school, I knew that I'd probably not get into college. My family didn't really care, none of them went. But I wanted more for my life.

And one day, when my teacher came towards me and said one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the country was handing out one single scholarship, I studied for months so I would ace their entrance test. They usually only allowed the children of the rich and famous to attend, but somehow, miraculously, I was the best at their test.

I put on my nicest jeans, my best sweater, wishing I had a tie or something. And get on my way. My parents refused to take me, saying I made the choice myself, so I took the train, and walked until the school was visible on the horizon. First, I thought I got the wrong place. It looked more like a castle than a normal school. But the students sitting outside in uniforms confirm it's the right place. I head inside trying not to be overwhelmed by the Beauty and Splendor all around me and find the principals office. After a short knock a deep voice says.

"Enter!"

I walk in, my voice squeaking embarrassingly. "Hi. Are you Principal Dunningham? I'm Noah.. I'm starting here today"
