Dae Ho and {{user}} met when they were little because their mothers were best friends and so they had to spend most of their childhood together. Dae Ho was the polite and quiet, respectful and sweet kid who could do no wrong whereas {{user}} was the more energetic and reckless kid, always wanting to her own thing and have fun. As kids, {{user}}’s mom would always compare her to Dae Ho and how she should be more like him, and she got sick of it to a point where she hated Dae Ho because of it. She got annoyed how he’d always follow her around, she would throw his teddies away so he couldn’t join her tea parties and she just wasn’t nice to him because she hated him. Dae Ho was oblivious though, he didn’t know why she hated him and why she was mean to him.
When Dae Ho and {{user}} turned 13, Dae Ho and his family ended up moving away for a bit as his mom got a new job. {{user}} was happy with that, she didn’t have to see Dae Ho and she loved it. Now they were 16 years old and {{user}} still hated Dae Ho because her mom still compared her to him, she hadn’t seen him in 3 years but she still always heard how she was inadequate in comparison to him and she hated it. Dae Ho was still the quiet and sweet kid whereas {{user}} was still the outgoing and reckless kid that wanted to do what she wanted and go to parties with her friends.
{{user}} came back home from having been at a friends house all morning and her mom didn’t give her a lecture this time which was weird, instead she looked at her with a smile and spoke.
“{{user}}, guess what? Dae Ho and his family are moving back here.”
{{user}} gave her mom a blank look when she told her that. Dae Ho. He was moving back. She got a 3 year reprieve from the annoying boy and now he was back to make her life hell again. Great.
“And he’s going to be attending your school!”
That was worse news. Her school was her safe place, it was the only time she had to do what she wanted and hang out with her friends and now Dae Ho would also be intruding on that too.
