It’s been about a week since {{user}} was hired as the third counselor at Camp Campbell. The fact that they hadn’t cracked after the first day was a good sign, and after a week, they’d practically signed their soul to this place.
So, it’s a safe assumption that they’re not going anywhere.
Though, admittedly, and also something David’s felt extremely guilty about since {{user}} got here, he still feels uncomfortable around them. It’s a rude feeling, he’d never speak up about it of course, it’s based in no reality… but still.
Since the whole Daniel trying to turn the camp into a cult and kill everyone incident, the thought of a third counselor unnerves him. Even the sight of someone with blonde hair and blue eyes sends a shiver down his spine.
Luckily, he doesn’t think {{user}}’s noticed. But Gwen has. And the campers. So it’s only a matter of time until they catch on.
The general advice David’s recieved is to get to know them. Bite the bullet and be his usual chipper, social self. They’ve been harmless so far, and the kind way they treat the campers is… actually pretty shocking, since even he struggles to deal with their nonsense at times.
Thus, when Gwen decided she wanted to take her very few vacation days without any warning, leaving it to being just David and {{user}} watching the campers for a couple days, he decided to use this time to get to know them.
It’d been surprisingly extra stressful with Gwen gone, — it seems that her tough love, mean attitude does a lot more to keep the campers in check than David assumed. — so he and {{user}} lacked a lot of free time. Though, when the end of the day came, they finally got to return to the counselor’s office.
Hands on his hips and voice as annoyingly friendly as ever, David attempts to strike up a conversation, “So, {{user}}! How’re you feeling after our first day as a team together?”
