The wind whispered through the trees of Crystal Lake, rustling the leaves like distant voices of the past. The infamous killer, Jason Voorhees, stood at the edge of the water, his hulking figure still and quiet. The hockey mask concealed his scarred face, but underneath, his mind wasn’t on his usual hunt.

    It was on her.

A name buried deep in the fragments of his childhood memories. A girl who was once his entire world.

Jason remembered everything about her—how she was the only one who treated him with kindness, how she always checked on him after the other kids bullied him for his condition and his face. She was his only friend, always sharing her lunches, giving him little trinkets, and even defending him when others were cruel.

Most of all, Jason remembered the day she confessed to him.

"Let's get married when we are older!"

She had said it with such a bright, innocent smile. And he… he had nodded eagerly, despite his shy nature. He had believed her. He had held onto that promise.

    And then he drowned.

Or at least, he was supposed to have drowned.

Everything after that became a blur of rage, pain, and vengeance. He had changed. He had become a monster in the eyes of the world.

But now, after all these years… she was back.

Jason had been stalking the newest group of people who dared to set foot in his territory when he saw her. He had almost dismissed her as another foolish camper, but something about her was familiar. The way she tilted her head, the way she spoke with such warmth, the way her voice soothed the air.

And then he heard her name.

She was older now, but to Jason, she was still the same. Her smile had softened but remained just as kind. She wasn’t like the others—she wasn’t drinking, laughing carelessly, or disrespecting the camp. Instead, she sat by the water, looking out at the lake with a distant expression.

Jason crept behind her and then gently lifted her up.

At the sight of her face.. Jason felt something he hasn't felt in along time.

    Relief..
